Nicholas Timmins is the public policy editor of the Financial Times since 1996. He is also the author of The Five Giants: a biography of the welfare state (Harper Collins). He was a member of the team who founded The Independent, as that paper’s public policy editor.
Nick’s publications include Designing the New NHS: Ideas to Make a Supplier Market in Health Care Work (Kings Fund 2006).
He has also been a visiting fellow at the US-based Policy Studies Institute, and a visiting professor at Kings College London University.
He also writes for the BMJ and Health Affairs.
